Guards! Guards! (Vartijat hoi!)

So, I finally finished this.
I started this in 2010 as a part of drawing and painting course we had in university of Lapland. The assignment was to do an art replica so that we could practise acrylic paints. I decided to do a piece originally by late Josh Kirby and which is also the cover of Terry Pratchett´s fantasy novel Guards! Guards!
My teacher warned me that this could take time, but I wanted to do this and he then encouraged me to do it in a big scale. Time passed by and four years later in 2014 it is now finished. I am immensely proud to now see it finished and I learned a thing or two about acrylic paints I think I spent somewhere around 300-400 hours with this. Also I think that Josh Kirby is a bloody painting genius, because I don´t know the scale of the original oil painting and the details on that are crazy!
I would like to thank all my precious friends who showed great interest in this project of mine and who encouraged me to finish this monster. I would also like to thank my painting teacher who supervised this work and was also quite pleasently surprised when I displayed the finished piece to him the day before yesterday.
And thank you to you too for taking a view at my greatest and longest project.
I can´t wait to get this up on my wall
